Kasey Treybig

Born and raised in Austin, Kasey grew up dancing at SMSD, beginning at the early age  of two years old. She attributes her love and passion for dance to Miss Trish, Miss  Teresa, Miss Edwina and her mother, Kelly Treybig. 

 

Kasey was blessed to be able to take classes from SMSD as well as other studios in and around the Austin area through high school,   she was a member  of  SMSD Performing Troupe for 5 years and was a member of ADW at Dancer’s Workshop and the Dance Center’s Senior Company “In Motion” during Middle and High School.    Kasey was able to perform in Disneyland in California and Disneyworld in Florida as well as the 2009 Cottonbowl through her dance organizations.  At age 16 Kasey was chosen an apprentice for Leslie Garcia assisting her in Hip Hop at the American Ballet Theater Intensives hosted by Ballet Austin at the University of Texas.  She has also taught Hip Hop and Jazz for Samantha Cockerham at the Dance Center in Cedar Park.  She has attended several conventions and competitions  including LADF,  The Pulse, TATD and Encore.  Kasey is a member of TATD *Texas Association Teachers of Dance - Having passed her teaching test for Jazz in 2016.  

During High School Kasey was a three year member and an officer on the Cedar Park Celebrities Dance team where her solo performance earned  top 10 finalist awards at  Showmakers in San Antonio and top 3 officer ensemble at HTE Dance Team competitions in San Marcos.    Upon graduating from CPHS  in 2010 Kasey attended Texas State University where she was a member  of the world famous Strutters’ dance team.  In May of 2014, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in History & Political Science.
