Kelly Jacobson Treybig was raised in Austin, Texas and has danced since the age of four. She was a three-year member of the Hyline Dance Team at Westlake High School; she then attended Texas State University, where she majored in Child Development and Dance, and was a member of the world-famous Strutters drill team.
Kelly has taught ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and musical theater since 1986 for Shirley McPhail School of Dance as well as the Dance Center. From 1994 – 200, she was the SMSDance Troupe & Company Director, and the Director of the Concordia Lutheran College Dance Team from 1993 – 1995. She has been a member of the Texas Association of Teachers of Dance since 1995. Her choreography for teams and productions has received regional and national awards throughout the years. Kelly has also adjudicated and choreographed musical theater productions for LISD, EISD and AISD schools since 2003.
Kelly has managed and worked at dance studios and dancer wear stores (Capezio, Dancer’s Closet and the Dancer’s Den) for over 25 years. She is currently training for her certification in Group Fitness and also has received certifications from the Austin School of Film in Video Marketing and Film Making and Web Design.
