Tuition may be paid by Cash, Check, Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa or Discover). If you want to pay by Credit Card you need to call the Mesa Studio.
Enrollment is for the entire nine months (September-May). If you or your child must withdraw from classes, an official drop form available at the studios must be completed and submitted to Studio Director Edwina Worley two weeks in advance. Full tuition will be due for the entire month in which the drop occurs nesciunt.
Students are placed in classes according to what they have accomplished during the years they have studied dance. Dedication and natural ability are also considered. When a new student transfers to our studio, it may be advisable for the student to attend several different classes in order to determine which class is the best fit (the proper level).
We are always pleased to talk with parents. It is important we be made aware of any change in the student’s attitude toward his or her class.
Regular attendance is extremely important, so the student can keep up with the rest of the class. Make-up classes may be scheduled within the month, with the permission of the teacher. A courtesy call to the studio or the teacher for an absence is appreciated.
We observe the protocol of AISD - Austin Independent School District if they delay cancel classes then SMSD will too. In situations where conditions are hazardous in the morning hours but improving during the day - we may decided to hold classes. As always the safety of our students and family is our highest priority. Please check your email and this website during the day in question.
PARENT CLASS VISITATION/OBSERVATION
While regular dance class sessions are closed to visitors (including parents), “Observation Day” is a very special time for the students to display their abilities and to give parents an idea of their progress. “Observation Day” is held in April each year. This time is for adults only. Please make arrangements for your other children on Observation Day. Video and still cameras are allowed during visitation. Additionally, viewing windows are open the first week of every month and/or at teacher discretion.
Parental supervision is required for young children waiting in the lobby or assigned waiting area.
