Shelley Scott

SMSD Manager / Instructor

Shelley began dancing at the age of 3 in Odessa, Texas and was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, and lyrical. She began teaching dance at the age of sixteen. She was a member of the Permian High School Panther Paws dance team and served as officer her senior year. She also served as choreographer for her high school show choir Encore! Shelley danced competitively for several years, and she was in local productions of Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, and Anything Goes at the historic Ector Theatre. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Texas Tech University.

Shelley has a decade of experience managing dance studios as well as choreographing award-winning competition pieces for various dance teams in the Austin area. She keeps the office organized and running smoothly, and she is a self proclaimed “spreadsheet fanatic”. She is also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. You can often find her morkie-poo puppy, Winnie, in the office with her.
