We are thrilled to present our 54th Annual Recital: “City Lights”!
Mandatory Dress Rehearsals: Thurs. May 30 & Fri. 31, Recitals: Sat. June 1
All recitals & dress rehearsals are at Westlake High School Performing Arts Center (4100 Westbank Drive Austin, TX 78746)
The last week of dance class is May 20-25. There are no classes during dress rehearsal/recital week.

Parent Observation + Costume Pick Up Week May 13-18
One adult must attend last 20 minutes of dancer’s class.
Eligible dancers will receive their 5 + years dance awards. Dancers will receive their costume and tights (combo dancers) to take home.
All accounts must be paid in full to receive costumes.
Tickets Go on Sale May 1!
Everyone needs a recital ticket (except toddlers if they sit in an adult’s lap for the entire show).
All seating is general admission.
Tickets give all access pass to entire day of recitals!
*Please note* Ticket website will show 10am for all tickets purchased. Please refer to recital schedule above for your dancer’s recital time.
Dance Awards
DUE BY MONDAY, APRIL 15
Students who have danced at SMSD for 5 or more years are eligible to receive special recognition! Dancers must have started taking class at SMSD Fall 2019 or earlier.
These special dancers will be recognized in the recital program, and they will be introduced in class during parent observation week (May 13-18).
Recital Portraits: Wed. 5/29 1-7pm at SMSD
NO sitting fee / NO obligation to purchase if you don’t like pictures
Packages start at $25
View/ordering right after portraits taken (viewing stations)
Offering prints, digital images, and specialty items
Over 20 years experience photographing dance portraits
5-7 poses per outfit (multiple options to choose from)
Dancers should wear light make up and bring correct dance shoes
***IMPORTANT*** If you decide to purchase, all orders must be placed on portrait day (NO online viewing/ordering and photographer does not archive images)

FREE Hair & Make Up Tutorial Class: Sun. 5/19 2-3pm at SMSD
All dancers are required to wear makeup for dress rehearsal & recital.
Bring your dancer with you to this class. No sign up required- just show up to this class!
Dancers need red lipstick, blush, dark brown or grey eyeshadow, mascara/eyeliner (older dancers), bobby pins, hair ties that match dancer’s hair color, brush, hairspray. Bun makers, hair nets & bobby pins can be purchased at Dancer's Den!
Recital Flowers
SMSDance Troupe will be selling rose bouquets at recital.
